Four Card Sample Reading

Dear Client,

Thank you for letting me read the cards for you today.  I'm using the Hanson-Roberts Tarot deck for this reading.

You wanted to know: "Will my relationship with my father improve soon?  Is there anything I can do to help us get along better?"

First Card: The present state of your relationship with your father:
        The Hanged Man

Second card; Your personal year card for the year 2000:
         The Emperor

Third Card: What you desire in this relationship:
         8 of Cups reversed

Fourth Card: The path between card one, and card three:
          7 of Cups

The Hanged Man suggests that at the moment your relationship with your father seems to be stuck in limb.  It's neither improving nor deterioration, it's just not going anywhere.  The card suggests that you have almost given up hope that a better relationship is possible between the two of you. However, the Hanged Man also suggests that in spite of all outward appearances, important psychological changes are going on beneath the surface of this relationship.  Ultimately these changes could pull the two of you closer together.

Your birth date indicates that the current year of your life is
characterized by the Emperor. (6+5+2000=2011: 2+0+1+1=4. the number 4 corresponds to tarot trump 4, The Emperor.)  In an Emperor year issues relating to one's father are often in the forefront , and this seems to be the case with you.  the Emperor together wit the Hanged Man suggest that this year you will have the opportunity to resolve your differences with your father, provided that you really commit yourself to doing this

The reversed 8 of Cups shows what you desire in your relationship with your father.  The card suggests that you want to give up neither on your father, nor on the relationship.  Chances are that there was a tine in your past where the two of you got on quite well, and ideally you'd like to recapture some of the closeness of that time.  Before you can rebuild this previous level of intimacy, you may need to let go of an old abandonment issue that is still standing between the two of you.

The 7 of Cups shows the path between  where your relationship is now and where you want it to be.  The card reminds you that you may be projecting feelings, and attitudes onto your dad that he may not have at all!  Are you perhaps passing negative judgment on your life, and assume that your dad may feel (or ought to feel) th same?
This card calls for a realistic attitude.  Your father is probably also not the judgmental bully as whom you sometimes perceive him.  Ultimately, the 7 of Cups suggests that once you set aside your fears, and projections, you will be able to see who your father really is inside and then you will be able to enjoy a better, closer, more peaceful relationship with him.  This will require a lot of courage as well as commitment on your part.

Dear Client, I hope this reading has helped shed some light on your situation.  Please let me know how it fits in with your situation-I would greatly appreciate your feedback.  Also, if you have any questions about this reading, please feel free to contact me.

I wish you all the best for the future, and for working things out with your father.

Greetings, and blessings,

Undine
